Precise diffraction measurements at HERA
Abstract
HERA has provided a wealth of data from diffractive phenomena. Full precision measurements of the inclusive diffraction are complemented by measurements performed with the roman pot devices. A brand new result is the first combination of diffractive data: H1 and ZEUS have released combined cross section data from the proton spectrometers and there is a fair chance to have final results for the conference, with further physics interpretation of these data. More exclusive final states (for instance jet production in diffraction) add new understanding of the diffractive phenomena. All these measurements are relevant for the determination of the so called diffractive proton structure, which can be used for predictions at LHC.
