A single bunch selector device for heavy ion beams up to 1 MeV per nucleon
Résumé
This paper describes a beam pulsing installed on a low energy beam line of the heavy ion accelerator GANIL. The unwanted beam bunches are vertically deflected by a rectangular pulse shaped electric field between two horozontal plates. As an exemple, this syetem can eliminate 9 of 10 bunches by pulsing 2 kV voltage at a maximum repetition rate of 1.4 MHz. A full technical description of the device is given.
