$\beta$-Imaging with the PIM device
Résumé
The $\beta$ autoradiography is an imaging technique which allows the two dimensional localisation of the distribution of a molecule labelled with 3H or 14C in tissue sample. In collaboration with the Biospace Mesures company, we developed a new micropattern gaseous detector called Parallel Ionization Multiplier (PIM) dedicated to the $\beta$ imaging. The images obtained show characteristics in adequation with the autoradiography requirements as a 2D spatial resolution (FWHM) of Click to view the MathML source (respectively Click to view the MathML source) and an efficiency of 85% (respectively 50%) for 3H (respectively 14C).
