Résumé
Organizational communication as a field of study and intervention has grown tremendously since the second half of the 20th century. The concept of gender, introduced into the social sciences in the 1970s, has also gained wide acceptance, although it was slow to attract attention in organizational communication, which is taught largely in faculties and schools of management, communication and psychology. An exploratory theoretical study of the English-language literature published on organizational communication between 1977 and 2003 has shown that the gender concept helped to further knowledge in this field during that period even though comprehension of it was sometimes limited and its application generally incomplete.
