Upper bound on the flux of cosmic photons and neutrinos of ultra-high energy with the Pierre AUGER Observatory
Abstract
The Pierre Auger Observatory detects the atmospheric showers induced by ultra-energetic cosmic rays. Photons or neutrinos may be clearly distinguished from protons or nuclei. The discriminating features are described; upper bounds to the incident fluxes are extracted from the data taken during the first two years of operation of the Observatory, and compared to theoretical models.
