Lepton flavour universality tests using semileptonic b-hadron decays at LHCb

Résumé

The Standard Model of Particle Physics predicts that the three charged leptons, namely electrons e, muons μ, and taus τ, should have identical electroweak couplings. The only distinction between them arise from their masses, due to their interactions with the Higgs field. However, experiments such as BaBar, Belle, BelleII and LHCb, have observed deviations from these predictions, particularly in the b → cν transitions, known as charged-current flavor anomalies. Recent measurements have been reported with the purpose of addressing these anomalies, a brief overview of these results is provided. It is worth noting that the overall tension between theoretical predictions based on the Standard Model and the world average including these new measurements remains at the 3σ level.
